As the guard of Dharma, usually Kim Sin (statue), he was positioned in the first room of a temple, back to back with Mi Le Gu Fo (Buddha Maitreya).

     According to Buddhist Book, Wei Tuo is a son of Tian Wang (King of Heavens) whom because of his goodness, Buddha Sakyamuni appointed Wei Tuo as protector of Buddha Dharma when climb the nirvana. Therefore, he had duty to protect Dharma of the Buddha, to protect members of Sangha from Mara disturbance, and reconciled if there was inter-sect dispute. If a Sangha (Mahayana) violated Vinaya (Regulations of Buddhistship, then he was faced to Wei Tuo Pu Sa for Remorse.

     Wei Tuo Pu Sa , sometimes was performed as Men Shen (Angle of Door) who look after the temples together with Ka Lan Pho Sat (Bodhisatva the Protector of Holy Buildings).
